Auditions
The Central Oregon Symphony has an open audition process for all interested string players. Auditions are held on an "as needed" basis for new players, generally prior to the start of each new season, but occasionally during the course of the season.
Interested string musicians can click on the link below that corresponds with their instrument to download the audition materials, or they can contact Michael Gesme at mgesme@cocc.edu or 541-383-7516 to have an audition packet sent by mail. The audition materials consist of orchestral excerpts and additional information about the process.
Once a player has prepared the audition materials, they should contact the COS Personnel Manager, Gayle Hoagland (gaylehoagland@aol.com) or Michael (mgesme@cocc.edu) to request an audition time and one will be arranged as soon as is practical.
Wind, brass, and percussion positions are currently all filled. However, we maintain an active sub list. If you would like to be considered for a wind, brass, or percussion substitute position, please send us a brief vita of your experience so we can add you to our roster and get you in contact with the section musicians of your instrument.
